Venture Scout

Josh is a Scout at Archer Venture Capital where he brings over 30 years of experience in technology and operations. Over the last 9 years, Josh was a Vice President at Amazon where he was the Chief Technology Officer of Ring.  During his 9 years at Ring, Josh oversaw a team of more than 800 engineers across the globe and helped guide Ring into becoming the largest home security company in the world.

Prior to Ring, Josh was the CTO at various SoCal companies including OneStop, The NTI Group, Rent.com and US Interactive.  At OneStop, Josh led the technology organization in building out warehouse, ecommerce and marketing technology solutions for brands ranging from John Varvatos to Rag & Bone. As the CTO at The NTI Group (acquired by Blackboard in 2008), Josh’s team built out the largest automated communications system in the country utilized by K-12 schools, universities, cities, and states for performing telephone and SMS based communications to their constituents. Prior to NTI, Josh was the CTO of Rent.com (acquired in 2004 by eBay) and US Interactive (formerly NASDAQ: USIT).

In addition to his operational roles, Josh has served as a Director at Launchpad LA, held board seats at Cuddly.io and Blushington, and served on the Board of Trustees for The Village School.

Josh is married with three beautiful children and holds a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of California at Los Angeles. In his free time he is an avid LA Kings and UCLA Basketball fan.
